Qantas was initially formed in 1920, as the Queensland And Northern Territory Aerial Service, and grew aggressively over the years to become the dominant national carrier. Following a tie up with British Airways that lasted from 1993 until 2004, the two airlines shared a number of routes via the Far East to Australia.
Economy class with Qantas offers cheap flights to Australia with an excellent airline. Seat pitch is 32 inches, and all seats have a seat back television. Meals and drinks are served throughout the flight, and children are well looked after.
The recently improved business class product features a sleeper seat and has excellent service on board the plane. The airline is two years into a renewal plan that will see the new seats rolled out across the fleet, although some planes still have the older seats.
In First Class, passengers receive the highest levels of service, and can enjoy sleeping on one of the most comfortable beds in the sky. Meals are of restaurant quality, and are served with Australian wines. Luggage allowance is a generous 40KG, and passengers get access to the state of the art departure and arrivals lounges at airports around the world.
