Malaysia Airlines was the larger half of Malaysia-Singapore Airlines when the company was split in two following Singapore independence in 1972. Malaysia Airlines initially concentrated on providing a comprehensive air service covering the islands and mainland of Malaysia before turning its attentions overseas from the late 1970s.
Currently, the airline operate services to more than 70 destinations across the Far East and Australia, providing some exceptionally low fares from the UK to Sydney and Kuala Lumpur amongst others.
Aeroplanes are split into three separate booking classes. Economy class offers a 34-inch seat pitch. Meals are served during the flight and there is a complimentary bar service. All seats have a personal television with a choice of programming.
Golden Club class seats are 50 inches apart, and offer personal televisions with video games. Restaurant quality food is offered including the chance to sample Satay during the flight.
Passengers in First Class get the chance to recline in comfortable sleeper seats that fold flat. Departure lounges are available in most airports, and First class passengers get priority boarding.
