Gulf Air is based in the Middle East, and owned in equal parts by the governments of Abu Dhabi, Oman, Bahrain (the government of Qatar was originally a shareholder, but withdrew in 2002 to concentrate on the operation of Qatar Airways). The airline was set up in 1950 in order to service the growing oil industry, and operated flights across the region from its main hubs to the big oil producing centres. Since its expansion through the 1980s and 1990s, the airline now flies to around 40 destinations across the world including flights to Kathmandu, Sydney, Dubai, and Bangkok.
Three booking classes are available on flights. Economy class passengers enjoy a seat pitch of 34 inches, seat back televisions in all seats, complimentary drinks and a varied menu tailored to each destination.
Upgrading to business class means a much larger and more comfortable seat with a 50-inch seat pitch, larger television. The meal service is also improved with more choice and better drinks on offer.
Gulf Air first class provides a fully flat bed, along with the highest standards of on board service. Business and first class passengers are invited to relax in elegant departure lounges prior to travel, and the airline provides a complimentary limousine pick up for premium passengers to ensure that you get to the airport in plenty of time for your flight.
