TAP Portugal (Transportes Aéreos Portugueses) is Portugal's national airline and is based in Lisbon. The airline was founded in 1945, and began services with flights between Lisbon and Madrid in Spain. In 1947, it began the 12-stop Linha Aérea Imperial, along a route through much of the Portuguese Empire in Africa, and including Luanda in Angola, Maputo in Mozambique. The next notable milestone came in 1964, when TAP flew its millionth passenger. TAP Portugal has an entirely Airbus Fleet, and operates flights to numerous destinations worldwide.
Economy class offers a seat pitch of 33 inches on most flights, and on board service includes a choice of meals, complimentary drinks, and films and musical entertainment. Passengers receive a free amenity kit to ensure that they arrive in their destination feeling refreshed.
Upgrading to Navigator class gives an increased seat pitch of up to 47 inches, and a more comfortable seat. In-flight catering is excellent, and passengers can enjoy entertainment on an individual personal television. Lounge access is possible in many airports, and baggage allowance is 30KG.
