One of the first airlines in Europe to adopt the no-frills airline model, Air Berlin offer a great value low cost service to various destinations across Germany and Europe via their main hubs in Berlin and Dusseldorf. The airline originated as a US owned carrier operating flights to Berlin during the late 1970s, and swiftly grew into the second largest airline in Germany.

The airline operates a fleet comprising mainly Boeing 737 aircraft with a few Fokker F100s as a legacy from the 1980s, although all of these are currently being phased out in order to save costs by only using a single platform, the Airbus A320.

Air Berlin operate a single class system on board their flights from the UK to Germany and beyond, so all passengers have the same amount of legroom and onboard service. Seat pitch (the distance from the back of one seat to the back of the next is between 29 and 32 inches depending on the aircraft, and all passengers on flights have a luggage allowance of 20KG.
