The Canadian national airline, Air Canada began service in 1937 as a subsidiary of the national railway company as Trans-Canada Airlines, before taking its modern name in 1964. The main cities served from the UK include Toronto, Vancouver, and a number of other destinations in North America, the Caribbean, and even Australia.
The Airline has a fleet that mixes Boeing and Airbus aircraft, with large Airbus A340s being used on long haul flights, and smaller Boeing 767 and Airbus A320 aircraft being the principal vehicles for short haul and domestic flights.
Economy class passengers benefit from a seat pitch of between 31 and 34 inches, and can enjoy complimentary drinks on transatlantic flights. There is a full meal service on board flights, and passengers get an overnight amenity kit on certain flights. If you fly in economy, the baggage allowance is 2 pieces with a maximum weight of 32KG.
Selected flights offer enhanced economy seating, where you get an upgraded service in a small cabin, prioritised meal service, and a larger seat pitch of between 39 and 44 inches.
If you upgrade to Executive First class on Air Canada, you benefit from more space - seat pitch is between 55 and 61 inches, private video screens, restaurant style meals, and first class in seat entertainment using the Sony Passport system. You get a baggage allowance of 2 pieces of luggage not exceeding 32KG each, and can take advantage of the pre-flight facilities in the Maple Leaf Lounges.
